POL 101 Research essay:

A two state comparison of for-profit education in Florida and New York

In my Asian Pop Culture and Globalization Class (APP-315) we were tasked with developing a research questions based on East Asian Pop Culture. The research question I developed was questioning why E-sports are more prevalent in South Korea than anywhere else in the world. In researching various journals, articles, and research data their were a variety of factors that made E-sports a staple for the country including expansion of broadband internet and a society built around it.

For my political science class (POL 101) I was given a research question and asked to write a research paper surrounding it as my Final Assignment. The question asked for a comparison between the States of Florida and New York in terms of how For-Profit Colleges institutions operate. In using tools such as Google Scholar as well as my university library I was able to compartmentalize the data I found into an eight page essay. The strucutre of the essay dives into the history of for-profit education in the United States and how it’s influence of students rose thanks to several world events and the expansion of higher education for the common man.
